Sweepstakes Judge – Jeanie Pitzenberger

I always had a love of big dogs, especially the Irish Wolfhound. As a child and young adult,
it was Dobermans and German Shepherds. I knew that when I was able, I would have an
Irish Wolfhound and our first joined us in 2006. I decided to go to a GLIWA Match and met
Joel Mattson and then Laurie Morris. With their mentoring, we had our first litter in 2015 out
of my GCHB MBOSS Brimstone Boondocks Serenity (River) by CH BISS Nightwing’s
Silencer. I have to say, starting off with those two Wolfhounds has been an incredible ride.
Since 2015 because of them and the mentoring of Laurie and Joel, I have achieved
remarkable success, three Regional Specialty BOB, two with dogs I bred, BOS numerous
times, eight Best Puppy, even an All-Breed BIS, two Reserve BIS, eleven Hound Group 1’s
and nine BIS Owner Handled.
While observing and caring for my puppies, I consistently assess them with the intention of
identifying those I will retain. I look for a robust puppy with plenty of bone, curves, a front
with elbows well under, ones that even at that very young age move with power and grace.
